    Silvio will have work at the Westminster School Small Works Exhibition (Alison Avenue, Marion) on the weekend of the 3rd & 4th August, then on the 10th & 11th he will hold his Open Studio from 11am – 5pm.  Colleagues John Nelson, Peter Syndicas & Sally Wickes will also be on hand to answer questions and display their work.  Studio Address:  157 Swamp Road, Balhannah.

    After visiting his sensei Baba Ogura in Japan, Silvio attended the 14th sculpture symposium in Cerisy-la-Forêt in Normandy.  Here is his piece carved in marble from the French alps, called “Le Mariage”.

    The Goulburn Knitters’ Guild produced a scarf to go around the Big Merino to celebrate the town’s 150th anniversary.  Silvio created this impressive ram in 1985.

    Silvio will be holding Open Studio on the final weekend of the SA Living Artists Festival, Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th August from 11am till 4.30pm.  Also participating will be John Nelson, Peter Syndicas and Sally Wickes.  During all of August Silvio will also be having a joint exhibition with painter and mentor David Dridan at the Murray Bridge Regional Gallery.

  • April 2012 – Symposium Wrap-Up – Isla-Sanz

    They came in their thousands to watch the sculptors at work and went away amazed and excited.  The Cedars, Sir Hans Heysen’s home & studio, quadrupled its takings for the month.  A win-win situation for the Symposium and the estate.  The Committee cannot thank the councils, sponsors, volunteers and the public enough!

    Silvio’s piece will be completed in May.  He had his work cut out as artistic director and dogman for the crane, which in fact was an excavator handled with brilliance & finesse by Scott Hunter of Hunter Brothers at Carey Gully.
