Work is well underway up on The Ridge at The Cedars at the 2012 Adelaide Hills International Sculpture Symposium. Silvio also has installed two farm gates on the Fleurieu for the Alexandrina Farm Gate festival. One gate depicts a vineyard scene and the other incorporates the ghost of a sheep departed. http://www.alexandrina.sa.gov.au/page.aspx?u=1954 for maps and information. Also on till the 29th April.
Silvio’s granite sculpture “Peleton” is one of over 50 created by local artists and which are installed in the extensive grounds of The Cedars at Hahndorf, Hans Heysen’s former home and studio, as part of the Heysen Biennial. Silvio’s piece is on top of the hill above the studio. This Fringe exhibition will run for 2 months and overlap the Adelaide Hills International Sculpture Symposium which begins on the 10th April and runs until the 29th (closed Mondays).
Silvio will be interviewed by Peter Goers at the Stirling Spring Ball on Friday night 21st October. This gala night will raise funds for the Stirling Business Association’s commission of a sculpture to be created at the 2012 Adelaide Hills International Sculpture Symposium.
On the 25th October Silvio will be addressing the gallery guides at the South Australian Art Gallery. The gallery bookshop has a selection of his small works for sale.
Silvio’s exhibition at Art Images Gallery, 32, The Parade, Norwood, opens on Friday 28th October at 6.00pm and runs until the 20th November. Rod Bax will also be showing with his wildlife paintings. http://artimagesgallery.com.au/artist_gallery
On the 4th November the Fleurieu Biennale Water Prize & Sculpture Exhibition will open at 6.00pm at Signal Point Gallery, Goolwa Wharf, Goolwa.
Silvio will hold his Open Studio at Gleneden, corner of Swamp Road and Fenwick Road, Balhannah on Saturday and Sunday 6th & 7th August from 10am -5pm to celebrate SA Living Artists’ Festival. Also apprearing will be John Nelson, Peter Syndicas & Sally Wickes.
During August Silvio will also be showing at the Adelaide Town Hall and at Rockford Winery, Krondorf Road Tanunda where he will be exhibiting an exciting new series of woodblock and lino-cut prints.
